Healing is not linear, one of the most important words of wisdom I can offer anyone healing from chronic illness. So often, it is not a straight line back to health. The steps may be linear but the process, and more importantly, the practice is not.
Why is it this? We've committed to doing the right things, we're on a roll and feeling better. Rejoice! If we keep this up we'll keep getting better. But so often life happens. The unexpected cause us to shift off the good habits we've been working to solidify. Make no mistake about it, it's a lot of work to keep the healing>disease scale tipped in the right direction.
So when you need to travel and do not have access to the pantry you've gutted out for healthier options, you might not have the best options to choose from. There are any number of possibilities that can cause this. Holidays are a big one. Social events. Falling off the path can even cause us to regress at times.
I am here to tell you, that it's normal for ups and down to occur. And to continue to return to that awareness of healing, the vision of life and version of yourself you hope to live. And always remember where you started; although you may experience dips recognizing that the overall trend over time is upwards to health is the most important thing.
